My synagogue is blessed with a dynamic new rabbi and tremendous growth and
nowhere to expand So, it's finally hit my library: the space is becoming real
multi-use: 2 spaces for office staff, preschool classroom, meeting
room, library, etc. The library is the only space that's left to work with.
Have any New Jersey synagogue libraries had the experience of having to do a
space evaluation and renovation hopefully without spending a fortune.
Our library has shelving against the walls and projecting into the room.
Several shelving units are attached so simply moving things around is a project.
If you've had to do this kind of renovation and have any leads to professional
space planners, I'd appreciate your sending me the info- or any advice you
might have.
We are willing to spend some money to do this right and I have been assured
that the library will stay although I think I'll have to seriously and severly
weed the collection.
TIA.
