And I have a question: given that I have a Pentium-M cpu that supports SSE2, what are the best flags to pass to ghc to make use of those? Perfect accuracy isn't an issue, I want "as fast as possible".
There's been some discussion of this on haskell-cafe recently. As I understand it, the relevant options are: -fexcess-precision -fvia-C -optc-O2 -optc-mfpmath=sse -optc-msse2 -optc-march=pentium4 although I've never actually used any of them. hth, -Brent
