Renick, Thanks for your response. I have installed HaskellPlatform-2010.2.0.0-setup.exe on Windows XP. I have checked that GHCi version is 6.12.3. I have also checked whether cabal is working or not. To do that: At dos prompt: \ghc>cabal --help \ghc> cabal install --help It shows me flags for help and installation. Once again, thank you very much for the time you have given. Regards, Deb

I think the step you missed in what he wrote on his site is installing the Haskell Platform. http://hackage.haskell.org/platform/ Installing this is supposed to give you a working cabal. You definitely want to take the time to make using cabal work for you.
