[Haskell-cafe] Monad pronounced like gonad?

I've been pronouncing monad like gonad (moh-nad), but it occurs to me 
that it might be pronounced like monoid (mah-nad).

Is there an official way to pronouce this word - maybe with a Scottish 
accent? :)
