I think that's a reasonable fear. In black moments, I share this fear with the Cabal Cabal. Fortunately, they assure me that they're well aware of this issue and don't intend it to become a problem. As someone in another reply points out, it's a considerable comfort that many of the CC are also package maintainers for other distributions. They know about this stuff :)
