I recommend Vim highly; however, it can take a while to get
  used to it. There are versions of Vim that offer close
  integration with your GUI's native keybindings; on Windows I
  believe that setup is called Cream.

  In all fairness, I am not that knowledgeable about work on
  Windows -- on the one occasion where I have worked on Windows
  for an extended period of time, I installed Moka 5 and a Linux
  VM and did all my editing through that.
