Actually, you can still use the non-polymorphic version. The type
synonyms are designed so that polymorphic versions will always
type-check as the equivalent non-polymorphic version. However, if you
prefer the polymorphic version, that's also okay, too! :)

version simply because my producer, "fromSocket", is a polymorphic
