Hi, I spent a little time trying to get some of HP to build with ghc-7.6.1, and pushed what I have so far to a fork on github:
https://github.com/juhp/haskell-platform/commit/815ba74e0c5a0f3cfcdef42042a446ede589ffd3 As you can see it is still a hack in progress: currently alex, cgi, GLUT, happy, and OpenGL don't build yet. Anyway I hope this might help others who want to play with HP on ghc-7.6.1.
