Errrr. Whoever is making the Mac bindist should take care to avoid any
MacPorts (or for that matter Homebrew) components slipping in to it; this
will cause problems down the road.

(The same goes for users; if you use MacPorts or Homebrew, wait for the
Platform to be updated there and install from there, or you will end up
with iconv etc. conflicts. Possibly a warning about this should be included
in the install docs.)
