Call for Papers - Call for Participation 6th International Workshop on Functional and Logic Programming Jan. 8th - Jan. 10th 1997 in Schwarzenberg (Black Forest) The aim of the workshop is to communicate ideas and work among researchers working in the areas of functional, logic and constraint programming. Traditionally, the focus is on the intergration of programming paradigms. A non-exclusive list of important topics is: - foundations and semantics, calculi, in particular narrowing, - constraints, - type systems, - declarative programming in general, applications, - language design, - program analysis and implementation techniques, and - parallelism and concurrency. During the workshop there will be meetings of the working group of the language Curry and the editorial board of the Journal of Functional and Logic Programming. Furthermore, Martin Odersky will give an invited talk on "Pizza into Java: Translating theory into practice". The workshop starts on Wednesday, Jan. 8th 1997, at 10.00h. We recommend to arrive Tuesday evening. The workshop ends on Friday, Jan. 1th 1997, at 12.00h. The workshop fee will be 30.- DM and can be paid during the workshop. The workshop will take place for the third time in Schwarzenberg (after 1994 and 1995). Schwarzenberg is a small village in the northern parts of the Blackforest. In January there usually will be snow. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, swimming pool, and sauna. The conference room provides overhead projector and flip chart. The price for a single room is 146 DM and 140 DM for a double room (per person and day). This includes all meals (breakfast, 3 course lunch and 4 course dinner). Coming down the motorway A5, you leave at Rastatt and follow signs to Gaggenau/Freudenstadt on the B462. From there, it is 38 km. Schwarzenberg is before Baiersbronn. Alternatively, you could use the fairely good train connections from Karlsruhe to Freudenstadt. There are regional express trains each hour, always leaving Karlsruhe at xx.20h. The last train leaves at 19.20h. Karlsruhe is stop of Intercity trains arriving around each full hour. Travel time from Frankfurt airport to Karlsruhe is approx. 2 hours. Train Connections: KARLSRUHE X.20h -> Schwarzenberg arrival X+1.29h | X in [7..19] If you arrive after sunset, it may be a bit difficult to recognize the Schwarzenberg train stop, don't hesitate to ask local people.
