RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN ELECTRONICS
UNIVERSITY OF KENT AT CANTERBURY
Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in the
Electronic Engineering Laboratory to work on an EPSRC-funded project
entitled `Novel logic based neural network architectures for
Multi-dimensional Data'. The project seeks to apply ideas taken from
Constructive Type Theory and formal logic to the incorporation of
multi-dimensional data within Artificial Neural Network models.
Specifically, the project will seek to build a working model of a practical
problem domain in collaboration with an industrial partner.
Applicants should hold or expect to hold a Ph.D. degree in an engineering/
computing/mathematical discipline preferably with experience in either
Artificial Neural Network design or an area related to Constructive Type
Theory such as Functional Programming. The post is for a period of one
year from 1/1/98.
Salary within the RA1A scale: 15,159 pounds to 16,927 pounds p.a.
