As someone said, I think 'hiding' is what you want.
Your suggestion is quite reasonable, but there are lots of
other Prelude movings-around that I am not doing for Haskell 98
(in ptic, the Prelude should probably be smaller) so I don't
think I'll do this either. Unless lots of people yell!
