[Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message] A new *beta* version of Hugs is available from: ftp://ftp.cs.nott.ac.uk/haskell/hugs/Hugs-981111-source.zip or, if you prefer, from: ftp://ftp.cs.nott.ac.uk/haskell/hugs/Hugs-981111-source.tar.gz This version combines the type system features of Hugs 1.3c (multiple parameter classes, etc) with the module system features of the June98 release of Hugs 1.4, together with a number of bugfixes for each. There has been a lot of interest in such a combined system just recently, and this should help to ease some of those frustrations, and to provide an indication of what is to come. Nevertheless, it is still a beta version, so there is a good chance of bugs or other problems with this release. Please note also that this is a source code only release; we'll look into making up binary releases once any initial problems have been ironed out.
