The School is one of the largest Computing Schools in Australia. It offers undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Science, as well as a number of combined degrees with other disciplines. Of the students admitted to first year in 2000, over 200 were from the top five percentile of high school graduates (UAI 95+). At the postgraduate level there is a large PhD research program and course work programs at the Master's and Graduate Diploma level in Computer Science, Information Science and Engineering Science. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: a relevant PhD (or equivalent); an excellent background in at least one of the following fields: networks, compilers, and embedded systems; an excellent record in teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; a strong publication record in refereed international journals and conferences; a track record of competitive grant funding; potential for academic leadership, as well as a willingness and ability to implement equity and diversity policies and programs. DESIRABLE CRITERIA: relevant industrial experience; ability to form links with the School's strong research groups in operating systems, reconfigurable computing, networks and compilers. The Salary range for Associate Professor is A$75,447 to A$83,118 per year. Salaries in the School presently attract a market loading of 10% (in 2000). Additional benefits such as special funding for teaching or research development may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
