Much as I prefer to use *csh interactively... I have to say that you're
dabbling in a nasty pool of hate. Scripting in *csh is hateful and rude.

I ran into a programmer who said that, about 15 years ago, and who was
busily maintaining separate csh and sh setup scripts for a development
environment so that both csh and sh/ksh users could source them. I solved
that for them the obvious way and there was much rejoicing.
