Suppose someone ships a powerful GUI tool (a thin layer of Tcl/Tk on top of a pile of incomplete and obscure command line programs), showing a list of files with plain text comments for each file.

Suppose this GUI tool is so powerful it won't let you:

* copy & paste text (unless it's the /entire/ content of the text window)
* move in the text area using Home and End keys (these are reserved for scrolling the list of files) * I could go on and on - in fact, it would only let you type a comment and move to next file.

Suppose this GUI tool does 1 (one) useful thing: sorts the files by name.

What on Earth can make the above-mentioned someone to remove the sorting in the next version, not adding a single new feature?

Sadly, the question is not merely rethorical, since that someone is BitMover, and the powerful GUI tool is `bk citool`.

Maybe they've created a FileSorter ($2K/seat per year), and they don't want internal competition.
