This is a hardware hate. On some revisions of MacBook (etc) firmware, there is a quirk such that (I forget which is which): function-modifier-up is modifier-pgup but modifier-function-up is modfier-up. I believe that this is fixed by firmware. It certainly was on my MacBook, anyway, after months of annoyance. -- rjbs
