Isn't a "play queue" essentially just a special-case playlist? Why not create a playlist, call it "play queue" if you like, and add what you want to it? Oh, and for whoever said iPod doesn't have an equivalent to the Party Shuffle hack, I could've sworn it has an "on-the-go" playlist.
