That's a good reason to hate Vi-Imposter too. If you had been
using the
*real* vi, it would have been obvious.
And for that matter, logrotate as well. Or any other program that
doesn't ignore trailing whitespace in configuration files.
Why is any software expected to deal with printer instructions and
pretend they're text? The only reason I deal with these fake text
files in my own code is in case I get stuck with one of them.
