When sent from a phone, I can understand it. Jesse Vincent's excellent k-9 android mail client appends "Sent from my android phone using k-9. Please forgive my brevity", which I don't mind.

Okay, you make a fair case for including a parenthetical "(Sent from my phone -- pardon my brevity)" or such, specifically in those cases that call for it -- if I take the time to tap out a full response, or my answer was short anyway, then such a note is superfluous.

But there is more than an iota of difference between "Sent from my phone" and "Sent from my iPhone". The latter strikes me as bragging, or even proselytizing. It even appears as if the user had written it, since it occurs in the main text and not the signature (i.e. following a "-- " line) where automatically inserted text belongs.
