Documentation for TIF is short and TIFBase is a bit misleading.
There are mixes of different APIs in the sample code, BatchUpdate in
package-overview.
I've started to make a patch for this, just creating an issue so I don't forget
to finish. Hope to squeeze it in to 0.20.0 but leaving it off for now.
