The offlined parent is deleted only after daughters have let go of all
references to the parent. If you want a quick lesson on how references work
just say. So yes the offlined parent can stick around for a while. It's the
metascanner that does the parent removal. On the retried issue grep the region
in the master logs to an idea of it's history. What was happening during the
time the client failed?
