HBASE-2174 fixed the issue where we were doing dns lookup on each heartbeat and
it adds into .META. table hostname rather than IP. This issue takes over from
hbase-2174 to make it so we run through all of hbase making sure we are
consistent in our use of hostname rather than IP everywhere. See HBASE-2174
for other background that'll help with this issue.
