If you have a Mac that is a 64-bit Intel machine you can do a software
upgrade and select Java 1.6 using the Java preferences inside the
Application folder.
If you have a Mac that is a 32-bit machine you can install Soy Latte
which is an OpenBSD project and a port of Sun Java 1.6.
As a side note our project had to move to Java 1.6 because we use
CorruptedIndexException which is new in 1.6.

Thanks for all of the information. I managed to recompile with javac
set to
1.5, but still using the 1.6 compiler. I'm going to give that a go,
but if
it doesn't work, I'm going to go ahead and upgrade our application
to 1.6.
