i tried hbase 0.19.2 on hadoop 0.20.0 and had problems due to
versioning errors.  19 is v2 and 20 is v3 protocol or something along
those lines.  so i went back down to hadoop 0.19.1 and hbase 0.19.2
and it all works fine
