Hi guys, I'm not aware of any support of HBase in Cloudera desktop. However if someone wished to add HBase support, I would generally support such a notion. As engineers used to editing horrific things like build.xml and using command line tools, we can often underestimate the value of a good UI.
As for the Java vs Python thing... Porting to Java seems pointless, I have some HBase bugs for someone if they have that much spare time :-) On Thu, Apr 8, 2010 at 4:07 PM, Andrew Milkowski <andrewmilkow...@gmail.com> wrote: > from my end (although I was able to bring the app with some tweaks) I > would create proper java-framework for it (currently python), with > proper configuration files and documentation > > However, to me, value of this tool in general is questionable, it is > much faster to setup a test job shell (or stream job) then to hack > around with python UI scripts to do the same > > Its a nice tool, although somewhat misguided (I think) its like having > an editor for xml files:) > > very best > > > > On Thu, Apr 8, 2010 at 12:51 PM, HadoopNoob <kat.herd...@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> Hey folks, >> >> I am a grad student at the Univ of Texas – Austin doing some research into >> Cloudera Desktop.
