There are several issues in the install instructions and release notes for 0.2.
In the install doc:
# hive-schema-0.7.0.mysql.sql, hcat_server_install.sh, hcat_server_start.sh,
hcat_server_stop.sh, and hive-site.xml are all listed as being in directories
that have moved under the new layout. The document needs to be updated to
reflect these changes.
# The command line arguments specified for hcat_server_install.sh are
insufficient. In addition to the ones specified it required -h and -p.
In the release notes, if the instructions for making a tarball are followed the
resulting tarball will have two instances of the hcat jar. The version string
needs to be passed to the ant and ant test commands.
