when you say log4j across the board do you mean to replace commons logging
(which uses log4j under the covers)? What's the motivation behind that?
What methods are you proposing? Or would you like to move the existing methods
in HCatUtil to a separate logging class?
It's not clear to me what #3 means? An example would help?
