Hey Jakob, can you point me at a hive-exec jar that doesn't have the serde
classes? I looked at the earliest version in maven (0.8.0) and the serde
classes were in there, so it seems like its been this way for a while? Or maybe

I just trashed my ivy cache and ran "ant clean package" The following hive-exec
was downloaded:
https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/org/apache/hive/hive-exec/0.10.0-SNAPSHOT/hive-exec-0.10.0-20120605.212239-42.jar
So I think the issue might have just been your ivy cache?
