Yeeaahhh... apologies on the confusing nature of our source & release
tarballs - I'm afraid what happened there was that we made a
distinction between a "source tarball" and a "release/deploy" tarball.
What you have from the download is the source tarball, meant for
developing against. The release/deploy tarball has dir structure and
layout commonalities with the rpm deployable as well, and hopefully
the deb target when we implement that. The source tarball, however,
has source code up front and center - it's closer to what you'd get
with a svn checkout.

"ant package" and "ant rpm" build the deploy tarball / rpm.

To minimize confusion, I guess that one thing we could have done is to
have released a source tarball, a deploy tarball and a deploy rpm.
