Ever since an Exim upgrade a few weeks ago, Exim has been mailing root
every day to announce that the paniclog is nonempty. The log ends up
full of lines like this:

2006-10-31 06:49:21 1Ges7L-0008Rh-7p Failed to find user "" from
expanded string "[EMAIL PROTECTED]
dbm{/etc/courier/exim.dat} }}{|}{ }}}}" for the virtual_delivery transport

You can find the responsible transport code in /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

We know that our vmail database isn't working the way it should, so I
have a feeling that the right fix is to stop the virtual_delivery
transport from logging to paniclog, or even better get it working
properly, but no one knew how to do that the last time I asked.
