Here is a new Seagate hard drive for only $129 with a 5 year warranty,
from a highly rated vendor:

Here are new Dell rails for $80, a substantial saving. Can't find much
about the vendor though:
http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.asp?id=21765
These have a 90 day warranty, which should be good enough; they are
unlikely to fail after that except by physical damage not covered anyway.

I have not yet found a good source for Sun Fire v20z rails. We have a
4-post, round hole rack. If anyone can find a source for these, please
mail the list.

Also, per the wiki discussion at EnvironmentalPolicy and elsewhere, now
that we're at Peer1 and have a quarter cabinet I think we should sign up
for CoolWatts wind power carbon offsetting at
http://www.nativeenergy.com/coolwatts.htm at the 5,000 kWh/year level,
with monthly recurring payments ($4/month). I previously offered to
donate the first year, so the amounts billed to the co-op can be debited
from my account, and we can revisit this in a year's time or if our energy
usage substantially increases, to determine if we want to stay with this
provider.

Adam, I would prefer that these be billed with the co-op's debit card.
The shipping address for hardware is:
HCoop Inc.
c/o Peer 1 Networks
75 Broad St. 2F
New York NY 10004

There's nothing to ship for the CoolWatts, unless you really want a paper
certificate.
