There are several reasons.  (1) The rest of the family often has to use
the phone.  (2) The computer with Internet access isn't mine, so I would
have to remotely SSH into another machine in order to connect.  (3) I have
better things to do than spend several hours a day idling on IRC, waiting
for someone to bring up administration topics.

If there is a particular time or day, however, that you plan to bring up
administration topics, then let me know, and I will make the necessary
arrangements to be on IRC.
