The Human Connectome Project (HCP) is happy to report the release of
Diffusion imaging data for all 86 Q3 subjects for which diffusion was
collected. The release includes all unprocessed and preprocessed dMRI data
for these subjects, some of whom are related.

The Q3 dMRI images have been reconstructed using a new algorithm that yields
significantly sharper images. Due to differing noise (smoothness)
properties, the Q3 dMRI data available should not be mixed in analyses with
the dMRI data from the group of 40 unrelated Q1-Q2 subjects previously
released in June 2013, which were reconstructed with an older reconstruction
algorithm. Details on diffusion data collection and processing are available
in the HCP Q3 Release Reference Manual
<http://humanconnectome.org/documentation/Q3/Q3_Release_Reference_Manual.pdf
> .

How to access the released dMRI data:

Login to ConnectomeDB and click the "Show" link in the yellow "Important
Note on Diffusion Data" box for a link to explore the group of 86 subjects
for which diffusion data is available in the ConnectomeDB dashboard and
queue dMRI data for download.

More to Come:

We are currently in the process of performing retrospective reconstruction
using the same (sharper) reconstruction algorithm on all Q1-Q2 subjects. We
expect to have the Q1-Q2 dMRI data ready to release in January 2014.

Questions:

As always, submit any questions about the data and processing to
[email protected] so that all may benefit from the discussion.

Best,

The WU-Minn HCP consortium
