Hi Adam,

Thank you for the screenshots with your post. That was helpful. I’ve been
trying to recreate the problem here (we happen to be running CentOS 6.7 with
Firefox 38.3.0 on some of our machines) and have so far been unsuccessful.
It’s definitely an odd problem because the application does seem to be
communicating with the plugin, otherwise the login page should be showing
“Plugin Required” messages that it’s not showing.

A couple of questions about this. Is plugin showing up in “about:addons” in
Firefox, and is it set to always activate? Have you tried reinstalling the
plugin and clearing the browser cache? Did you get any popups asking you to
allow connection with the plugin? I’m a bit perplexed about this at the
moment, since the page does seem to be communicating with the plugin enough to
not display the “plugin required” messages, and I don’t seem to be able to
recreate the exact outcome even by not allowing communication with the plugin.

Regards,

Mike

Subject: [HCP-Users] aspera connect problem on linux/firefox

I'm having an odd problem with Aspera Connect with Firefox on Linux. The
asperasoft website assured me I have correctly install the latest version:

But the connectome site keeps asking me to run the installed:

This is on a Centos 6.7 server with all packages fully upgraded. (i.e. Firefox
38.3.0)

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Adam Thomas
