Hi all,
As a general reminder to everyone, from the Q3 release and onward, *all* released dMRI data was generated using the same image reconstruction. Thus, anyone using dMRI data
from the Q3 release and onward has a set of data with internally consistent image reconstruction. Anyone with dMRI data from either the Q1 or Q2 releases will have dMRI data with the original reconstruction algorithm. The data should not be mixed across
releases.
HOWEVER, for the fMRI data, retro-recon of the data acquired with the original reconstruction algorithm was not possible. Thus, for the fMRI data, approximately the first 8 months of data from the project are only available using the original reconstruction
algorithm. Depending on your exact measure of interest, this difference in image reconstruction is definitely evident in the fMRI data. You can determine the image reconstruction version of the fMRI data for a given subject using the “fMRI_3T_ReconVrs” variable
in the database. If the fMRI recon version has a significant impact on your measure of interest, you should include it as a covariate in your analyses, or consider demonstrating/replicating your results using only the “r227” reconstructed fMRI data (which
is the reconstruction implemented for the fMRI in April 2013, and thus the much larger set of overall data).
cheers,
-MH
