there is some flexibility about the F5 license; the current one under which it
is freely available is for academic use, yes. If you're attending the tutorial,
then we can discuss possible options in person.

Difficult. Not impossible :-)
You are correct that we can spend more than one day on each of the
four parts of the proposed Tutorial. It really depends on the
audience, but based on our experience, attendees do get good start on
HDF5 in one day.
