Indeed I think that if HDF5DotNet would have to be written in fully managed language like C# to be "Any CPU". There are one or two tricks you can pull in C++ that result in faster data access, especially to do with tiny datasets, but most of what you can do with pointers in C++ you can do with pointers in unsafe C#, and still allow the "Any CPU" benefit, which is sort of nice. Anyway, thoughts for whoever builds the next generation .NET interfaces....
