I have added to my list of tasks doing an update for the HDF4 doc on
performance. This update probably won't be in the next revision of the
User's Guide, but I'll check to see if it's possible.

In the process of trying to better understand chunking and
performance issues, I ran across this:

... but it's for HDF4. Any chance of an HDF5-1.8.x update? There
doesn't seem to be any performance-related stuff in the user's
guide for HDF5, at least not in any obvious fashion. Perhaps I
just missed it.
We are actively working on a revision to the HDF5 Users Guide, but
I'm not certain what the schedule for rollout is. Perhaps Mark
Evans (on our team) can add some details... (I'm out of the office
today, otherwise I'd just ask him myself :-)
