I've shifted projects for the moment, but when I get back onto this for the next set of requirements in the pipeline, I'll change the preprocessor definition to the "approved" _HDF5USEDLL_ and re-run the functionality tests, just in case! So I'm going to assume that, until 1.10 at least, that section of the header will be available.
