Hi,

as far as I know there is no pre-existing encryption filter yet, but it should not be too hard to register an encryption method as a data filter. This may well require 3rd party libraries beyond HDF5 to do the actual encryption, thus be
application/domain-specific.

Hi,

I am not concerned about metadata, I am concerned entirely with the
"heavy" data, so the array contents.

Thanks for any hints,
Dominik

Hi Dominik

The only viable solution at the moment is to write a vfl driver to
encrypt the metadata. At least as far as I know. It is not of course
supported by HDF.

Cheers

I need to (optionally) encrypt my data. I have seen lots of related
threads but none with a clear conclusion. I am wondering if HDF5
offers any straight forward solutions here.
Thanks.
