CMake Error: cmake_symlink_library: System Error: Read-only file system

There are limitations on the use of symbolic links for VB shared folders,
but the
cmake installation needs them:

$ ls -l hdf5-1.8/build/bin/libz.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 gwhite bod 11 Jul  2 13:57 hdf5-1.8/build/bin/libz.so ->
libz.so.1.2
