I tried this a while back and I can get recent versions of HDF5 1.8 to build using the latest MS MPI, but mpiexec seems to only be available on Windows Server 2012 with the HPC pack installed. I haven't gotten around to setting up a VM for that so I don't know if it works there or not.

Parallel HDF5 is not supported on Windows. A while back the developer was able to compile and test Parallel HDF5 on Windows using CMake and Microsoft MPI. He has not tried this recently, though. -Barbara ======================================================== Barbara Jones, The HDF Group Helpdesk, [email protected] Support Services: https://www.hdfgroup.org/services/ ======================================================== On Sun, 13 Mar 2016, [email protected] wrote: > Hi All, I'm trying to enable parallel HDF5 data writing in my project using precompiled Windows (32-bit) version of HDF5 1.8.14. I'm using windows vs 2010. But I found that report goes that H5Pset_fapl_mpio() and H5Pset_dxpl_mpio() are not defined. I wonder if HDF5 do not support I/O on windows now. I do found an answer, but it is put forward by Xunlei Wu. At that time HDF5 do not support I/O on windows. Now 7 years have passed, I wonder if HDF5 can support parallel I/O on windows now. And which version support that?
