Hi Roberto,

With HDFView, I don't see a way to do exactly what you ask. HDFView just lets
you browse (and edit) an HDF file.
Here are some things that you can do:

- You can select "Show Lineplot" from the "Table" pull-down menu to view a
lineplot of a selected part of the dataset.
- Right click on the dataset and select "Open As" to open the dataset. A
"Dataset Selection" window will pop up.
- From the Dataset Selection window you can:
   - select a subset of the table.
   - view the dataset as an image (and select subset).
If you view the dataset as an image, you can select "Show Value" from the
Image pull-down menu.
Then when you cursor over the image you can see the x,y values at the
position of the cursor over the image.

Would that help?

You could write an application to search for a value, or find analysis tools
that can help. There is a list of (some) third-party
tools here:

Subject: [Hdf-forum] HDF View :searching for values in a table dataset

Hi everybody,
I'm a new user.
I used HDF View to read the results obtained from HECRAS simulations.
I obtained some tables with different types of values.
I'm trying to find a way (command, tools, other) to identify a specific value
inside a table, but I didn't understand if it was possible.
e.g.: I have a table with 500 values (variation of depth in time). I want
identify the "x" depth value in the table avoiding to flow the list.
       Is it possible?

Could you help me , please?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Roberto
