Hello!

Excuse me if I'm writing to the wrong mailing list.

The information at
http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-hdfs/HdfsDesign.html
seems outdated:

1. "There is a plan to support appending-writes to files in the future."

Append was implemented in HADOOP-1700, wasn't it?

2. "HDFS does not yet implement user quotas or access permissions"

It contradicts to
https://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-hdfs/HdfsQuotaAdminGuide.html
and
https://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-hdfs/HdfsPermissionsGuide.html

3. "Currently, automatic restart and failover of the NameNode software to
another machine is not supported." - but there is High Availability feature.
