Thanks for the tip Haohui, I didn't think to check that out.  

It looks like in order for that to work we need to get the options parser, 
HDFS-9177, in and wired to the c api.  Until then there's no way of handling 
hdfsConnect("default",0) host/port case.  Can we modify that test to add 
optional host/port parameters until the options parser gets in?
