Even though this Jira along with HDFS-9311 is New Feature, IMO it would be 
worth to merge to Branch-2.7. Lot of deployments would be benefited.
What you think [~kihwal]?
If okay, I would be happy to post a patch for branch-2.7, if available patches 
not apply on branch-2.7.
