S3n isn't going to get any more maintenance; S3A is a complete rework, where
the fact that we know that S3 is the target, and amazon SDK the API lets us do
performance work.
Other object stores can do the same thing. What would benefit them all is if we
could factor out some of the common code for better reuse, and have more shared
tests.
Now, which object store where you thinking of in particular?
