This is probably related to HADOOP-13142, which bumped the min DN version to
3.0.0-alpha1 in trunk.
On second thought, this was probably a mistake, since it should be possible to
support rolling upgrade to 3.0 even though it's not required by our
compatibility guidelines. I'll file a new JIRA to track this.
