The other note is that adding a dependency on hadoop-hdfs, even with deps
excluded, means that we fail to achieve the very purpose of the
hadoop-hdfs-client refactor. The current fix thus falls in the "hack" category,
and I'd rather we not default to carrying it forward to future bramch-2
releases.
